Enemencio M. Peralez Jr., 81, of Sundown passed from this life on Dec. 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, daughters and grandchildren. Visitation took place at Krestridge Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services were held at Park Drive Baptist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment followed in the Sundown Cemetery.
He was born on March 17, 1944, in Austin, Texas to the late Enemencio and Damiana Peralez Sr. Enemencio grew up as the son of migrant workers. Soon, he met the love of his life, Margie Torrez. They got married on September 11, 1965. They began making their family with the birth of their first son, Michael in 1966. Two years later in 1968, Thomas joined the family. Then in 1972, their first daughter, Gloria, was born. In 1977, Cynthia was born, and then last but not least, in 1982, Betty was born.
Junior, as everyone knew him, worked in the oilfield for 30 plus years. He worked for Lee Transports and Key Energy until retirement. Then he, his wife, and son opened Tommy’s, which later became Chappy’s after the passing of his son.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and working outside in the yard. After becoming ill, he stayed home and watched every cowboy movie known to mankind.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Enemencio and Damiana Peralez; his sisters, Esther Torrez, Paulina Hernandez, Elvira Martinez, Damiana Hernandez, Consuelo Castillo, Sylvia Guajardo; his brothers, Frank Peralez, Guadalupe Peralez, and Alfredo Peralez; and his sons, Michael and Thomas Peralez.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Margie Peralez of Sundown; daughters, Gloria (Juan) Herrera of Levelland, Cynthia Hart of Sundown, Betty Peralez of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and a large host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
