In memory of Barbara Levacy

Barbara Levacy, 80, of Levelland, passed from this life on Tuesday Dec. 9, 2025. Barbara was born in Levelland, Texas to Alton and Pauline Kiser on May 1, 1945. Barbara attended Levelland schools. Barbara was married to Jesse Levacy for 24 years. From this union they had one daughter, Kari Torres. Barbara worked for ALCO in Levelland until their closing. She retired from the Wal-Mart of Levelland after 20 years of dedicated service. She was a hard worker. She had heart of gold. She taught her daughter to look for the good in everything.

Barbara was raised at Austin Street Church of Christ in Levelland and was baptized there. Later in life she became a member of Cactus Drive Church of Christ, along with her daughter.

Barbara had many hobbies. She loved to travel with her family to the mountains in New Mexico and Colorado. She loved books, movies and religious & country music. She also loved to watch Turkish Dramas. She loved to crochet, color, play cards and dominoes and do yard work. She was an amazing cook. She especially loved the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and always made them special for her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Pauline Kiser, of Levelland, brother Larry Kiser of Levelland, Jerry Kiser of Princeton, Texas and Jerrel Kiser of Levelland.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kari (Tim) Torres, of Acuff, Texas , Grandson Alexander Torres, Granddaughter Breanna Torres, brother Lynn (Cheryl) Kiser of Levelland, sister in law Sheila Kiser of Levelland, and Jean Reed of Opelousas LA, and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved so much.

The family would like to thank the many compassionate people of Lubbock Health Care Center who helped care for Barbara over the last several years, as well as her many physicians.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Head Duarte Funeral Home in Levelland. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at the Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel Funeral wervices will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date in Sundown.
