Holiday driving trips may see some improvement with gas prices dropping.
In Lubbock, the price per gallon dropped below $2. Gas Buddy shows Phillips 66 and Stripes at some locations costing $1.92 per gallon.
Murphy USA on University set their price at $1.97 per gallon, along with Costco on 34th Street. Sam’s Club followed suit.
Other locations showed prices from $2.02 to $2.09 in varying locations in the city.
According to AAA, the national average is $2.896 per gallon and in Texas, $2.514 per gallon. One year ago, the average was $3.655 to $3.069.
The current average for diesel is $3.038 per gallon, compared to last year at $2.923 per gallon.
