Graveside services held for Lora West-Hunnicutt

Lora Mae West-Hunnicutt, 89 of Levelland, passed from this life on Dec. 25, 2025. Graveside services were in the Levelland Cemetery on Tuesday, Dec. 30, beginning at 10 a.m.

Lora was born to Malcolm Earl (Sr.) and Lilla (Gray) Hickman on Apr. 9, 1936, in West Point, Lynn County, Texas. She attended Cone Grade School and later graduated from Ralls High School. She attended Draughon’s Business College and Wayland Baptist University. She was a Christian and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Levelland. She worked as an accounting clerk and retired from the United Parcel Service. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, crocheting and knitting.

Lora married B. L. West on Mar. 5, 1964, in Littlefield. He passed on Aug. 17, 1984.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Houston Hunnicutt Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. M. E. Hickman Jr. and Jan Hickman.

She married Houston Honeycutt on Mar. 21, 1998, in Muleshoe. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2019.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Deborah McIntyre and husband, David of Lubbock and Kathy Sanders of Tucson, Arizona; special friends, Dwain and Linda Goodson and Betty Shaw along with a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step greatgreat grandchildren, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
