The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will hold a special public meeting on Jan. 12 at 9 a.m.
Commissioners are expected to consider and take action regarding Chapter 312 of the Texas Tax Code and enactment of the proposed Texas guidelines and criteria for tax abatement and other economic development.
Commissioners are also expected to consider and take necessary action to approve the Planning Pod software for the Mallet Event Center and Arena.
Other agenda items to be considered with possible action include authorizing the county judge to apply for the Rural Ambulance Service Grant Program H.B. 3000 and accepting the resignation letter of Tristan Galindo, 4H Development Agent.
Commissioners are also expected to consider the Mutual Aid Agreement for Complex Emergency Response and Investigation Planning as submitted by the Hockley County Sheriff and approval of a road crossing for Saddle Rim Energy (Texas), LLC on Horse Road in Precinct 1.
Discussion and potential action and approval is expected for the music licensing agreement with the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers for application to the Mallet Event Center regarding an event.
A review of the December 2025 fire runs as submitted by the City of Levelland is on the agenda.
An executive session may be held as needed.
