The First Methodist Church will be hosting DivorceCare and Griefshare seminars and support groups for newly divorced or separated people at the church.
The DivorceCare video seminar features some of the nation’s foremost experts on divorce and recovery topics and are combined with support group discussions of the material presented on the video.
Volunteers who are assisting with the seminar are Larry Johnson and Mylinda Massey.
DivorceCare meetings are set to kick off on Jan. 13 and meet every Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at First Methodist Church, 1011 Houston. Childcare up to fifth grade will be available for participants. Call the church office at 806-894-6159 to reserve childcare.
Griefshare is another support group providing healing and hope and will provide weekly meetings on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. at the church. A new Griefshare day group is set to begin weekly meetings on Jan. 14 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
The group is designed to help people recover and rebuild their lives after losing a loved one.
