PATSY LEWIS
Church service for Patsy Nell (Singleton) Lewis, age 91 , of Katy, Texas , was scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at First Assemby of God Church in Morton, Texas. Burial was held in Morton Memorial Cemetery. The family received guests from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, at Ellis Funeral Home in Morton.
Patsy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt and friend was born to Goldie Mae Dewbre and Dave Singleton in Ralls, Texas on April 5, 1934. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 30, 2026 in Katy, Texas.
Patsy was a caring, smart, beautiful, talented and fun loving woman who cherished her family and friends. She adored her large extended family and was always there to provide love and support. Patsy had a deep abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. She loved games of all kinds, including dominos, cards, Nintendo and golf. Patsy had a wonderful feisty sense of humor and joy for life. She loved hosting parties for her church home group or swim parties with the grandkids. She especially enjoyed having a big group of nieces come spend a week of fun and adventure with her in the summer.
Patsy graduated from cosmetology school and was a talented beautician and successful entrepreneur, owning her own salons in Levelland and Kermit, Texas as well as Broken Arrow and Coweta, Oklahoma. While working at the local cafe in Whiteface, Texas, Patsy met the love of her life, Billy Joe Lewis. Billy Joe and Patsy were married April 21, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Their 68 year marriage was a shining example of love and commitment.
Billy Joe adopted Patsy’s young son from her brief first marriage, Samuel Ray and they had three additional children together, Shonnie LaVon, Billy Joe (Bill) Jr. and Patsy (Patti) Jo. They have eight grandchildren, Benjamin Daniel, Catherine Daniel Seibert (husband Chris), Mitchell Daniel (wife Elizabeth), Amanda Lewis, Laura Lewis Davis (husband Jarris), Brittany Scoggins Kemery, Ashley Scoggins Young (husband Jake) and Cayden Scoggins (wife Savannah) and 11 great grandchildren, Charles Daniel, Maxwell Daniel, Oliver Daniel, Henry Daniel, Landon Davis, Mason Davis, Rhett Kemery, Amelia Scoggins, Elijah Scoggins, August Daniel and Madeleine Seibert.
Patsy was preceded in death by her mother and father Goldie and Dave Singleton, her husband of 68 years, Billy Joe Lewis, sons Sammy Lewis and Bill Lewis, Jr. and and her eight brothers and sisters: Alta Mae Studdard, David Singleton, Peggy Jones, Earnest Singleton, Betty Dawson, Max Singleton, Michael Gene Singleton and Sherry Bracken, and a great grandson Beck Owen Kemery.
She is survived by daughters Shonnie Daniel, (husband Bruce) and Patti Scoggins (husband Mike) and the grandchildren and great grandchildren listed
