Canon reaches 150 career wins with PACK in Amarillo

Levelland ISD’s tennis PACK competed hard last week, with varsity travelling to Amarillo, and JV hosting at home.

In the Panhandle, varsity placed three times in the Gold and Silver Brackets, with an athlete reaching a major milestone.

Varsity’s William Canon passed his 150-win mark this weekend. Congratulations to William Canon.

In the Gold Bracket at the Caprock Tournament, Nathan Ellis took third place in the Boys Singles Event. Reese Payton followed and placed second in the Boys Singles in the Silver Bracket. Hayden Ewings and Esteban Nieland fought hard together and placed third in the Boys Doubles in the Silver Bracket.

Here in Levelland, the JV PACK finished their home matches as Red Bracket Champions.

In the Red Draw, Elena Guajardo placed third in the Girls Singles, Abril Perez won the Consolation Championship, Kimberly Chavira-Campos and Paula Castellanos got third place in the girls doubles, and Eduardo Perez-Garcia and Chase Eller placed third in the Boys Doubles.

For the Black Draw, Joseph Cervantes won the Boys Singles Consolation Championship, Sophia Koubek placed second in the Girls Singles, Maria Perez and Stephanie Sanchez got third place in Girls Doubles, and Izrael Ayala and Brynlee Montgomery placed third in the mixed doubles.

Varsity will be back on Friday at the Sadies Cup in Amarillo, and JV will take part in the Big Spring matches this Thursday.
