The South Plains College Track & Field program qualified an unbelievable number of athletes for the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship meet, which is set to take place over the weekend at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
SPC has qualified in 75 events, with a healthy mix of individual running events, field events and relays, and several of those qualifying marks are National Championship contending entering the meet.
In the men’s 60-meter dash, Jacorey Harrell qualified 14th with a 6.77 and Kyle Lawrence qualified 21st a 6.81.
In the women’s 60-meter dash, Oluwatumininu Sanyaolu qualified 23rd with a 7.60 and Shahyna Coudriau qualified 37th with a 7.70.
In the men’s 200-meter dash, Carlton Siwela qualified sixth with a 21.11, Caleb Kelly qualified seventh with a 21.12, Elijah Joseph qualified eighth with a 21.16, Aiden Kelly qualified 13th with a 21.26, Omar James qualified 17th with a 21.37 and Harrell qualified 20th with a 21.43.
In the women’s 200-meter dash, Sanyaolu qualified 12th with a 24.27.
In the men’s 400-meter dash, Siwela qualified ninth with a 46.79, Joshem Sylvester qualified 17th with a 47.17, Joesph qualified 21st with a 47.53 and Aiden Kelly qualified 28th with a 47.72.
In the women’s 400-meter dash, Nour Rahou qualified third with a 55.03, Morgane Lenoir qualified 21st with a 57.05, Cheffonia Houston qualified 22nd with a 57.14 and Mathilde Maison qualified 23rd with a 57.29.
In the men’s 600-meters, Siwela qualified first with a 1:16.59, Yassine Bounasri qualified second with a 1:16.87, Sylvester qualified seventh with a 1:18.00, Zion Miller qualified 18th with a 1:19.33 and Demari Caldwell qualified 36th with a 1:20.01.
In the women’s 600-meters, Rahou qualified second with a 1:31.24, Lenoir qualified fourth with a 1:32.56 and Houston qualified 12th with a 1:35.16.
In the women’s 800-meters, Rahou qualified fifth with a 2:13.23, Lenoir qualified ninth with a 2:15.42, Jennifer Lozano qualified 33rd with a 2:18.91 and Alison Guaman qualified 47th with a 2:22.09.
In the men’s 1,000-meters, Bounasri qualified first with a 2:21.93 and Tamer Sakar qualified third with a 2:22.03.
In the women’s 1,000-meters, Guaman qualified 23rd with a 3:02.84 and Lozano qualified 32nd with a 3:04.95.
In the men’s mile, Dennis Cheruiyot qualified ninth with a 4:08.35, Sakar qualified 12th with a 4:09.89 and Ylies Mihoubi qualified 33rd with a 4:15.70.
In the men’s 3,000-meters, Cheruiyot qualified second with an 8:13.51, Abdirisak Saidgurhan qualified 12th with an 8:22.18 and Mihoubi qualified 20th with an 8:27.85, and in the women’s 3,000-meters, Guaman qualified 24th with a 10:29.39.
In the men’s 5,000-meters, Cheruiyot qualified fourth with a 14:21.51 and Mihoubi qualified fifth with a 14:22.89.
In the men’s 60-meter hurdles, Jamison Lewis qualified ninth with a 7.98 and William Ndiba qualified 21st with an 8.19.
In the women’s 60-meter hurdles, Rashema Lindo qualified seventh with an 8.62 and Sanyaolu qualified 12th with an 8.73.
In the men’s 4x400-meterrelay, the team of Siwela, Joseph, Sylvester and Kelly qualified second with a 3:08.40.
In the women’s 4x400meter relay, the team of Rahou, Houston, Lenoir and Maison qualified fourth with a time of 3:48.11.
In the men’s 4x800-meter relay, SPC qualified third with a 7:24.01, and in the distance medley relay, the team of Mihoubi, Bounasri, Cheruiyot and Ismael Risser qualified second with a 9:49.81.
In the women’s 4x800meter relay, SPC qualified first with a time of 9:09.65.
In the men’s high jump, Logan Mennel qualified ninth with a jump of 2.05 meters (6’ 8.75”), and in the pole vault, Jules Courel qualified first with a vault of 5.34 meters (17’ 6.25”), Diego Constantino qualified sixth with a vault of 4.75 meters (15’ 7”) and Haden Judd qualified 14th with a vault of 4.63 meters (15’ 2.25”).
In the women’s pole vault, Olga Lapuzova qualified sixth with a vault of 3.54 meters (11’ 7.25”), and in the women’s long jump, Leticia Ouaba qualified fourth with a jump of 5.88 meters (19’ 3.5”).
In the men’s long jump, Adem Boualbani qualified third with a jump of 7.58 meters (24’ 10.5”) and Harrell qualified 22nd with a jump of 7.20 meters (23’ 7.5”), and Boualbani also qualified first in the men’s triple jump with a jump of 16.10 meters (52’ 10”).
In the women’s high jump, Rachel Couderc qualified 10th with a jump of 1.60 meters (5’ 3”) and in the pentathlon, Violette Bray qualified 14th with a total score of 2,876 points.
In the women’s triple jump, Ouaba qualified first with a jump of 12.73 meters (41’ 9.25”), Violette Bray qualified 16th with a jump of 11.71 meters (38’ 5”), Chrisshona Bargaineer qualified 24th with a jump of 11.39 meters (37’ 4.5”) and Ta’Nae Henderson qualified 24th with a jump of 11.39 meters.
In the women’s shot put, Kahllah Bailey qualified fifth with a throw of 13.71 meters (44’ 11.75” and Suerena Alexander qualified 11th with a throw of 12.84 meters (42’ 1.5”).
