LHS Culinary Arts win big at State SkillsUSA

The Levelland High School Culinary Arts students competed at the State SkillsUSA competition under the direction of Khris Oaks and brought home a lot of wins.

Winning Best of Show honors were:

Best of Show for Showpiece Esteban Nieland, Lanyi Sanchez, and Stephanie Sanchez for the Blue Alien Best of Show for the 3-5 Tier Cake - Brennon O'Bryon, Izabella Garcia, Olivia Hinojosa, and Cy'Jai Mitchell for the Space Helmet, Moon, and Rocket Earning a State Superior Rating were:

Erica Arendariz, Maya Garza, and Julian Pena for the cake with the Red Monster with a Crazy Tongue; Zaylee Paredez, Luis Hernandez, Grayson Heseman, and Keven Mora with The Snake; A l a n Delgado, Sam Honea, Gabriella Grado, Alan Delgado, and Caylin Lewis for the Alien in Wolf Clothing; Selena Conde and Anahi Jasso for the Little Green Alien with the Sign; Cademen Lawless, Lorenzo Galvan, and Julio Ramos with the Green Alien that Looks Like an Octopus;Ella Rendon, Via Hernandez, Analiya Avitia for The Snail; Itzel Reyes, Gabrielle Muniz, and Lanyi Piercy for The Octopus; and Oscar Melendez, Aden Zamora, Tyler Mansell, and Isabella Sanchez for the Alien with the Gold Eye and Big Head.

The LHS Culinary Arts program offers students more than learning to cook. This course gives students a hands-on pathway to realworld success, life skills, and future careers, with many going on to be chefs and bakers, restaurant managers and hospitality leaders.
