The Levelland City Council General and Special Election is set for May 2 Polling location is at the Hockley County Tax Office at 624 Avenue H. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters of District A will be choosing a city council member to represent that district. Candidates include William (Bill) Powell and Bobby Eldon Morris.
Voters of District C will be choosing a city council member to represent that district. Candidates include Julian Esparza and Angie Yandell.
City of Levelland Special Election All city districts will be voting for the City of Levelland Special Election on -Proposition A: “To abolish the Type A economic development sales and use tax levied by the Levelland Economic Development Corporation for the promotion and development of new and expanded business enterprises at the rate of three-eighth of one percent and, concurrently, increase the Type B economic development sales and use tax levied by the Levelland Community Development Corporation by a rate of three-eighth of one percent (for a total rate of five-eighth of one percent) to undertake authorized projects for the purpose of economic development including related maintenance and operating cost, as described in Chapters 501 and 505 of the Local Government Code.”
