10 Lobos earn All-District baseball honors

The 4A District 5 baseball honors and awards were recently announced, and 10 Levelland Lobos earned selections.

First Team All-District selections included junior shortstop/pitcher Abram Arteaga, junior infielder Javier Ruiz, junior outfielder Jeron Salinas, senior utility Boston Winfield and senior catcher RJ Mireles.

Second Team All-District selections included sophomore designated hitter Ian Rivera, junior outfielder Tobias Gavina, senior first baseman Kade Pemberton and junior outfielder Kai Martinez.

And rounding out the honors was junior Jake Potter, who won the Pitcher of the Year.

“We’re extremely proud of the young men who earned All-District honors this season. Individual recognition like this is a direct reflection of the work these players put in every single day and the commitment they’ve made to our program and to each other,” Levelland Head Baseball Coach Chris Portwood said. “What makes these awards special is that they represent more than statistics; they reflect leadership, toughness, consistency and the standard our players work to uphold. Our program takes great pride in developing competitors who represent our school and community in the right way, and these honors are a testament to that culture.”
