MARILYN SUE EVANS HUGGINS

Marilyn Sue Huggins was surrounded by love and peace when she passed from this earth on December 10, 2022.

She was born Marilyn Sue Evans March 4, 1938, to parents Ernest Clarence Evans and Viola Evans in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her early years were full of family and friends.

On October 15, 1960, Marilyn married the love of her life, Burt Huggins.

They welcomed three children into this world, Lisa Huggins, Harold Burt Huggins and Mona Huggins Rice.

Marilyn was known for her grace and kindness. She enjoyed the natural things of this world, music, and helping others.

She was the secretary at the Baptist Student Union on the South Plains College Campus for several years and loved her job with the students there.

She also served as a church librarian at the First Baptist Church in Olton.

She and Burt served for many years as missionaries on the Mexico border, in Texas and New Mexico. She had a servant’s heart.

Marilyn was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her husband; her infant son, Harold Burt Huggins; her brother, Harold Evans; her sisters, Mary Wulff and Lavonne Ellis.

Her legacy will be cherished on earth in the lives of her daughters, Mona and Lisa; grandchildren: Dallas, Ashley, Amber, Kurtis, Karina and Julia; and her great-grandchildren.

She has many other family and friends that will have precious memories of her life.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, at Colonial Funeral Home, located at 809 Butler Boulevard, Dimmitt, with her grandson, Dallas Pena, officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt.
