Funeral Services for Salvador Lopez Sr., 46, of Lubbock were held Saturday February 25th, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland. Officiating Rev. Jonathan Phillips Music by: Johnny Vasquez Interment will be held at the City of Sundown Cemetery in Sundown Pallbearers are Mike Davis, Diego Lopez, Salvador Duran Jr., Luis Lopez, Cesar Lopez and Juan Lopez. Honorary Pallbearers are Raul Lopez and Zeke Salazar. Funeral services are under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home and Staff in Levelland.

Visitations and Reflections of Life was held Thursday and Friday February 23 and 24, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Rosary was held Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel. Salvador passed from this life on February 21, 2023 in Lubbock.

He was born on December 28, 1976 in Levelland to Domingo and Emma Florez Lopez.

Salvador, was a wonderful son, brother, husband, grandfather and uncle. A graduate of Sundown High School year of 1996. He married Maria Contretas, on May 25, 2016 in Lubbock and they have seven children from this union. He worked for Sedexo in the HVAC Dept. as a heating and air conditioning technician for over 22 years. Salvador, was a Cursillista and was involved with the men’s crusio movement under the Diocese of Lubbock for several years. His hobbies were listening to a variety of music and hanging around amongst his friends, dancing with his wife Maria, playing pool, and spontaneously attending live concerts, Tejano, Spanish rock, and country western music bands perform. He liked cooking out doors for his family and friends barbequing and he was an excellent cook. Salvador was a close friend of Father Jonathan Phillips, he so much enjoyed his visits. He was a long time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church from youth in Levelland, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lubbock.

Preceded in Death by his father Domingo Lopez.

Survived by his spouse of 6 years: Maria Contreras Lopez of Sundown, his mother Emma Florez Lopez, sons; Diego Lopez, Salvador Duran Lopez, Ezekiel Salazar, and Jesse Alonzo all five of Lubbock daughters; Amanda Ramirez, Isabel Sue Lopez, and Brandy Alonzo all three of Lubbock, granddaughters: (4) Avery , Jordan, Kamara, Kenadi, Aspen, sisters: Nancy Lopez and Lorena Lopez both of Sundown, Sonia Lopez of Lubbock, Adelina Guerrero of Amarillo and brothers; Luis (Heather) Lopez, and Raul Lopez, all three of Lubbock, Juan (Sandy) Lopez of Sundown, Cesar Lopez of Sundown, Domingo Lopez Jr. of Mexico.
