The City of Levelland MainStreet program is hosting their fifth annual Sip & Swirl event in downtown Levelland, June 9, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

MainStreet Director Tania Moody explained that the group tries to make every event a little different from the last and this year’s event is themed, ‘Around the World.’

Community members within the surrounding area are invited to attend the event; however, there are only 400 tickets available. Tickets can be purchased online at downtownlevelland.com or can call (806) 894-9079.

All ticket purchases include 10 spirit tastings, 10 food pairing options from cultures around the world plus a commemorative tasting glass and tote.

The event includes a fine sampling of local wine, craft beer, bourbon, tequila and more. A few pairing suggestions include food truck hopping and shopping at local favorite downtown boutiques.

Ticket holders with general admission tickets will register at the Brasch-Mitchell building similar to recent years. VIP ticket holders will register at Studebakers and pickup their ‘swag bag’.

This year, individuals can select a traditional wine glass in addition to a short glass for people who prefer to drink other beverages including wine. Each tasting spot will represent a country or a place. Participants in the event have been encouraged to decorate and represent the country or place they have chosen to give off a fun atmosphere of the destination chosen.

Studio K will be representing France and will have charcuterie for their bite and will also be offering charcuterie boxes for those who want to walk the downtown square and sample other drinks. In addition to creating French atmosphere, the staff will be wearing berets and neckerchiefs.

Hamilton Pool will be located at Our Stuff. Live Well Think Happiness will have margarita’s and max salad.

“We’re very excited this year because people are going to get a sample of a one ounce drink in addition to a bite to eat,” said Moody. “There is going to be a lot of shopping and I hope everyone enjoys their time on the square and see’s what our vendors and boutiques have to offer.”

For visitors walking the square, Moody hopes they will take the time to look at over the 70 mosaics placed around downtown on the new handrails.

“We are really encouraging people to go ahead and get tickets before they sell out and just enjoy a night out with friends,” said Moody.
