WINNIE MAE LYON SITTON
Winnie Mae Lyon Sitton, 82 of Lubbock passed away July 4, 2023. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Cactus Drive Church of Christ in Levelland, TX.
Winnie generously donated her body to Texas Tech University Health Science Center Willed Body Program for Alzheimer’s and Medical Research.
Winnie Sitton was born in Bowie, Texas to Lonnie and Truetta Lyon August 24, 1940. She attended Levelland High School and graduated in 1958. Winnie married Jerry Sitton on June 24,, 1961 in Levelland. She was the greatest mom and Gram ever!!
Winnie enjoyed playing soft ball and volleyball, cross stitched, sewing, singing and spending time with “Them Babies,” playing Phase 10, eating peppermints and strawberry ice cream. Winnie was always ready for an adventure.
Winnie was a member of the Cactus Drive Church of Christ. Winnie was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Lyon, parents Lonnie and Truetta Lyon, brothers Ervin Lyon and June Lyon and sisters Kit Allen, Putt Cummins and Sherrilyn Williams.
Winnie’s beautiful life will be forever cherished by the lives of daughter Karen (Bryan) James of Pflugerville, Tx, Jan Sitton of Lubbock and Lisa (Steve) Sechrist of Lubbock, grandchildren Nicole and Kasey McBride of League City, TX, Caleb James of Denver Colorado, Phillip Sechrist , Shelby and Taylor Aldridge, Brett and Gabby Sechrist all of Lubbock, Zack Williams of Morton, TX, great grandchildren Caitlyn Kern, Rory McBride, Benjamin Martinez and Beckham Aldridge. Siblings Jo and Donnie Blakely of Levelland and Terry Cummins of Bowie Tx, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
