Joyce Yvonne Johnson Jackson, 85, of Lubbock, Texas passed from this life on October 30, 2023. She was born August 12, 1938 in Hedley, to George Johnson and Ollie Bell Moore Johnson.
Joyce graduated from Lelia Lake High School and attended Clarendon Junior College. She married Lon Burnie Jackson in December of 1957 at Memphis, Texas.
She joined Rebekah Lodge in 1962 at Claude, TX and later became a member of Lubbock Rebekah Lodge 321. Later she joined the Ladies Red Hat Club in Lubbock, TX In 1987, she was a member of Lamb County Sheriff’s Posse. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She worked as a cashier at Texas Tech University Cafeteria from 1976 until she retired in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ollie Johnson; sister; Jewell Ismanell Johnson Gray; husband Lon Burnie Jackson; and son Lonny Gale Jackson.
She is survived by her son Burnie Dale Jackson (Le Ann) of Lubbock TX; daughter Yvonne Jackson Gipson of Levelland; two grandchildren: Cody Gipson and Amanda Gipson of Levelland; three great grandchildren: Aralyn Gipson, Kason Gipson and Eliana Gipson all from Levelland.
As per her request their will not be a service just a small family gathering in Clarendon, Tx.
