Mr. Sammie Lew Hogwood, 92, of Hardeeville, South Carolina, passed away on November 30, 2023. He was born on March 10, 1931.
Mr. Hogwood retired from the United States Army in 1968. He was an active member of the community group where he lived for the last three years with his grandson. His neighbors will remember him riding around the area on his scooter and saluting all the flags that he passed on his way. Three days each week, Mr. Hogwood attended the Senior Center in Ridgeland, SC where he said people “treated him like a king.” He will be remembered for his pleasure in playing tricks on people and making people laugh. He will be missed by family and friends from several states.
