Peggy was born March 1, 1934, in Brownfield, to Ross and Lessie Black.

Peggy poured her love into her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and her many Bible School children through the years. As a faithful servant of Christ, she loved sharing her faith through both her exceptional artistic and singing talent’s. She sang and performed with the Sweet Adelines and lived her life with a song in her heart. In her later years, she found a love for country western dancing, wearing cowboy boots passed down from her dad. Her artistic skills were exceptional, especially with oil on canvas. Peggy routinely volunteered to make the illustrations for many projects, like children’s stories for Sunday School and VBS programs.

She was known as a master seamstress, designing and sewing clothes for herself, her children, as well as many costumes for countless drama, school and church productions. Even in her later years, she was quick to help out neighbors, doing alterations and mending anytime she was asked. Like her mom, she loved making porcelain dolls, masterfully designing, sewing and dressing them to perfection. All who knew Peggy knew how she loved parties and social gatherings, always adding her own spice and sparkle to every event!

Peggy is survived by her five children: Lisa Flatley and husband Michael Flatley of Chandler, AZ; Curtis Jennings and wife Whitney Jennings of Litchfield Park, AZ; Kelly Jennings of Litchfield Park, AZ; Joni Rhodes and Robert Rhodes of Peoria, AZ; and Jim Jennings and wife Paula Jennings of Morton, TX. She is survived by brother Mike Black and wife Sandra Black; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Peggy is also survived by her 3 step-children: Dave and wife Mary Ann Hyman, D’Ann and husband Ty Chandler, and Jill Hyman-Jowers.
