Lorenzo “Pappy” Childers passed from this life on January 14, 2024 in Levelland. A viewing will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland.
Lorenzo “Pappy” was born to J.Q. and Mary Elizabeth Childers on October 27, 1956 in Spur, Texas. Lorenzo moved to Levelland in 1956, he graduated from Levelland High School and was Mr. LHS. He met his beloved friend and companion of 22 years Elaine Fuller. He worked for 45 years for several oil companies as a roughneck, driller and mechanic. He worked for BRW drilling Co., G & C Oil, Norton Energy and Drilling, and Patterson UTI Oil. His hobbies included playing cards, watching his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys, playing pool, dancing, listening to a variety of music and being a happy person. He enjoyed his friends Antonio Alcazar, Joddie Garrett, William Dailey, Lewis Palmer and Carol Sabvino.
He is preceded in death by his parents J.Q. and Mary Childers, companion Elaine Fuller, son Rodney Childers, stepson Antoine Fuller, sister Brenda Diaz and brothers Robert Childers and L.T Childers.

He is survived by his sons Bradford Childers and Brandon (Amanda) Childers both of Austin, Patrick (Jacqueline) Childers of Levelland; stepson Andre Fuller of Lubbock; stepdaughters Alyssa (Julius) Fuller of Levelland, and Ashley Fuller of Dallas, sisters Roxie Childers of Lubbock, and Willa (Eugene) Ewalt of Levelland; brothers, Brother Alvin (Norma) Childers, and Willard Earl (Brenda) Childers, both of Levelland, and Kenneth “Cheetah” Childers of Lubbock and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins A special thanks to Interim Hospice for all their professional care.
