Church service for Daniel Franco Casarez, age 84, of Whiteface, Texas,were held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 23, 2024 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton, Texas with Father Jonathan Phillips officiating. Rosary was at 6:00 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton. Burial followed in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Daniel was born on February 25, 1939, in Karnes City, TX to Toribio Casarez and Natalia Franco Casarez. He was one of 9 siblings. Eventually, the family moved to Morton, TX where the elder Casarez would finish raising their children. Daniel Casarez married his bride, Maria Del Consuelo (Chelo) Guerrero on December 2, 1958. They had three sons, Carlos, Noel, and Adrian, and raised their boys in Morton and Whiteface, TX.
Daniel was a farmer and rancher around Whiteface, TX. He loved green John Deere Tractors and red GMC/Chevrolet pickups. As they say, tractors are green, and pickups are red. He was a prankster and always had a good joke for anyone willing to sit around and listen. His stories and memories are many, and he loved to help those in need. He and his wife taught their boys to live life happily, to love those around them, and to help those in need. They always told the boys to respect and love people, and in return, they would be loved and respected, too.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Toribio and Natalia Casarez, his son Noel on January 12, 2009, his wife Chelo Casarez on September 4, 2015, and grandbaby Casarez in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Louisa Casarez Garza, Ophelia Sepulbeda, and baby Martha Casarez.
Daniel is survived by his sons Carlos (Carrie), and Adrian, granddaughters Elizabeth Maria, and Carla Danielle, grandsons Bryan and Ryan Alvarado, and daughter-in-law Martha. He also leaves behind his sisters Guadalupe Sanchez, and Martha Garcia, brothers Enrique, Manuel, and Robert Casarez, and many nephews and nieces. The Pallbearers are Bryan and Ryan Alvarado, Elias Guerra, Juan Guerrero Jr., Ruben Lopez, and Gilbert Sepulbeda.
