Mr.Enrique Gomez Sr., 85 of Levelland, passed from this life on March 26, in Levelland.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday April 2, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Officiating was Father Jonathan Phillips. Music was by Joe Flores. Interment was in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Easton Smith, David Hernandez, Terry Smith, Bobby Orosco, Rudy Orosco Jr. , Lupe Gomez Jr. , Beau Winfield.
Honorary Pallbearers were Boston Winfield, and Johnny Joe Mendez.
Visitations and reflections of life were held on Monday April 1, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Duarte Head Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary was held on Monday April 1, at 7 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel.
Enrique was born to Pancho Fransico and Isidra Orosco Gomez on July 15, 1938 in Edna.
Enrique Gomez Sr., moved to Levelland from Edna during his childhood with his parents.
He married Manuel a “Nellie” Ruiz, on July 26, 1990 in Levelland. They had eight children from this union.
He worked for Pool Oil Co., Levelland Cotton Compress, and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, as maintenance man for several years.
His hobbies were traveling to Ruidoso, N.M., fishing, camping, gambling, and yard work. He enjoyed spending time with all his family.
He was preceded in Death by Parents: Pancho Fransico and Isidra Orosco Gomez Spouse of 33 years: Manuela “Nellie” Gomez Daughter: Connie Solano Son: Pancho Gomez, Edward Paz Sr., and Gerald Paz Sisters: Natalia Cordova and Nativida Gonzales Brothers: Juan Gomez, Blas Gomez and Joe O. Gomez.
Survivors; Daughters: Carolina (Miguel) Bernal, Candelaria (Rudy) Orosco , Rosa (John Joe) Mendez, and Soyla (David) Hernandez all four of Levelland; and Isabel (Michael) Cortez in Snyder. Sons; Enrique Gomez of San Antonio, and Lino Paz Jr. of Levelland; several Grandchildren and Great Grand children Sister: Janie Barrera of Levelland Brother: Lupe Gomez of Levelland.
