Leland Taylor III, 38 of Lubbock formerly of Levelland passed from this life on October, 16, 2024. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, October 25, 2024 at Head Duarte Funeral Home in Levelland. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Head Duarte Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
Leland was born on November 13, 1985 in Levelland to Laland Taylor Jr. and Willie Childers Ewalt. He attended Carver & Cactus elementary in Levelland. He attended several different schools before graduating from Monterey High School in Lubbock, TX in 2003.
Leland worked in customer service at Clear Talk, Boost Mobile and O’Reily’s Auto Parts. He also served as an officer at the Lubbock Detention Center.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Leland Taylor and Lennie Vee Taylor, Mary an J.Q. Childers, Archie Wayne Scott and daughter Karleigh Sanchez Taylor.
He is survived by his mother Willa Mae (Gene) Ewalt of Levelland, father Leland (Rhonda Scott) Taylor Jr. of Lubbock, son Leland Taylor IV of Lubbock, daughter Audrielle Martinez of Lubbock, sisters Robbie Cowley of Post, Angel (Stevenson) Sanchez of Levelland, Samatha Eakin and Kari Taylor both of Sundown, brothers Michael Childers and Bradley (Tiwana) Nelms both of San Antonio and Roman (Ashley) Taylor of Post and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
