Memorial service for Tammie Baker Rogers, age 65 , of Denver City, Texas , is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Denver City with Kyle Streun of Denver City officiating. Tammie died Monday, October 28, 2024 in Denver City. She was born March 23, 1959 in Levelland, Texas to Donnye and Sammie (Shakespeare) Baker. She married David Rogers in Denver City on July 11, 1997.
Tammie received her Master’s degree in English, and taught for 42 years. She loved teaching and earned the Mirabeau B. Lamar teaching award. Tammie loved to travel, and did get to see the world. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Denver City. Tammie’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandkids. She is preceded death by her parents.
Tammie is survived by her husband, David; her two sons, Ty Rogers and his wife, Au’shalyn of Garland, Texas and Trent Rogers and his wife, Meredith of Seguin, Texas; her daughter, Taryn Parker and Sean of Allen, Texas; her sister, Mitzi and her husband, Bob Van Winkle of Weed, New Mexico; her two brothers, Wade Baker and his wife, Connie Jo of Morton, Texas and Mark Baker and his wife, De’Ann of Whiteface, Texas; her five grandchildren, Madison Mcleroy, Brooklyn Parker, Beckhem Parker, Hudson Rogers Brannon Rogers and Malakye Trujillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
