Levelland Fire Report

10/27/24 – DISPATCHED 2:37 P.M. – CLEARED 2:47 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a low flow alarm near the 1400 block of East Ellis Street. Fire crew training was the cause of the alarm. Fire personnel cleared and put the alarm back in service before returning to training.

10/26/24 – DISPATCHED 7:29 P.M. – CLEARED 8:14 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a wreck near Austin Street and Avenue C. All patients were out of the cars, and the units helped EMS with patient assessment on the scene. The units controlled traffic until police took over, and then cleared the scene.

10/24/24 – DISPATCHED 8:40 P.M. – CLEARED 8:56 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a gas smell near 12th Street and Avenue N. Fire personnel investigated and could not find evidence of natural gas, H2S or carbon monoxide in the area. The fire personnel cleared the scene.

10/24/24 – DISPATCHED 4:04 P.M. – CLEARED 6:00 P.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a car on fire in the grass near FM 1490 and West FM 597. Fire was spreading to the grass upon arrival. Sudan and Littlefield Fire Departments were also on the scene. LPD extinguished the car fire while other departments worked on the burning grass. LPD helped other units with the grass fire after the car fire was extinguished.

10/22/24 – DISPATCHED 12:22 A.M. – CLEARED 12:39 A.M. –LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment full of smoke near the 200 block of Magnolia Street. Fire personnel found pan grease spilled onto an oven’s heating element and caused the smoke. They removed the pans and unplugged the stove before telling the resident about what was found and returning to the station.

10/20/24 – DISPATCHED 8:30 P.M. – CLEARED 8:50 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a gas smell near the 100 block of Flint Avenue. No gas was detected by the fire units and they cleared the scene.

10/19/24 – DISPATCHED 2:53 A.M. – CLEARED 3:21 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a resident’s call about a smoke detector going off near the 100 block of Hickory Street. The fire units advised the resident that the smoke detector was out of date before clearing the scene.

10/18/24 – DISPATCHED 7:45 A.M. – CLEARED 8:10 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a call of a fire alarm near the 1400 block of Avenue H. There was no visible smoke or fire upon arrival, and the fire units checked the building for the source of the alarm. The fire units found nothing and cleared the scene.

10/18/24 – DISPATCHED 6:07 A.M. – CLEARED 6:32 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a call about a smoke alarm near the 600 block of Hickory Street. No fire or smoke was found and the smoke alarm was checked and found to be operational upon arrival. The fire units cleared the scene.

10/17/24 - DISPATCHED 7:25 A.M. - CLEARED 7:44 A.M. -

LEVELLAND

Littlefield EMS requested assistance from the Levelland Fire Department to conduct traffic control two miles east of N. Highway 385 and E. FM 597. Responding units were canceled while in route.

10/16/24 - DISPATCHED 1:34 P.M. - CLEARED 2:23 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a call in reference to possible smoke inside of a residence located in the 2000 block of Rice. Upon arrival, no visible smoke or fire was showing from outside the residence. Occupants stated they activated the central heat and a light odorless smoke was emitting from the vents. There was no indications of abnormal heat signatures from a thermal camera. The residents were advised to not use the system until a professional repair service had inspected the system.

10/16/24 - DISPATCHED 3:31 A.M. - CLEARED 5:15 A.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a call stating powerlines were sparking above a trailer house near 2nd Street and West Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the arcing lines and stood by until Xcel arrived.

10/12/24 – DISPATCHED 3:05 P.M. – CLEARED 3:30 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a call about a power pole fire near Alamo Road. The units could not find fire or smoke upon arrival but found two tripped fuses on a power pole. The units notified dispatch to contact Xcel Energy and returned to the station.

10/11/24 – DISPATCHED 10:16 P.M. – CLEARED 10:42 P.M. –LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash near the Braum’s on East State Highway 114. The units worked with EMS to load up and transport a patient that was found on the ground. Once the patient was being transported, the fire units cleared the scene.

10/9/24 – DISPATCHED 7:16 P.M. – CLEARED 8:05 P.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover near North Barton and Sunrise Lanes. Upon arrival, the passenger was found to have made it out of the vehicle. The units were not needed for traffic control and returned to the station.

10/9/24 – DISPATCHED 4:16 P.M. – CLEARED 4:35 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a fire alarm call on the South Plains College campus. The units met with maintenance personnel and cleared the building upon arrival. No signs of a fire were found and the units returned to the station.

10/5/24 – DISPATCHED 6:33 P.M. – CLEARED 7:20 P.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a grass fire near East State Highway 114 and FM 2378. The 911 dispatcher requested both Levelland fire units and Smyer Volunteer Fire Department. Upon arrival, Smyer Volunteer Fire Department had the fire under control. One Levelland fire unit was cancelled and returned to the station.

10/5/24 – DISPATCHED 4:22 P.M. – CLEARED 4:34 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a call about a possible fire and large cloud of black smoke near Oak Street. The units couldn’t locate any fire or smoke upon arrival and cleared the scene.
