Diego “Cali” Romero, 69, went home to be with the Lord on November 4 , 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 7 , 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland, Texas. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
Diego was born in Tecolotito, NM to Ignacio and Rita Lucero Romero on March 14, 1955. He Married Rosa Vasquez in Morton on October 1, 1973 and they had four children form this union. He moved to Levelland from Morton in 1993. Diego worked for Bud Redding as a cotton farmer for

His hobbies were building things, listening to Tejano and Spanish music, he liked spending time with his children and grandchildren , cooking outdoors and making BBQ pits out of metal barrels, he also enjoyed yard work and keeping a green lawn, he loved John Deere Tractors. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Morton and St Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Rita Lucero Romero his son Diego Romero Jr., sisters Diana Romero and Mary Helen Romero Ibarra.
He is survived by his spouse Rosario Vasquez Romero, sons Alex Romero of Arizona and Gregory Romero of Levelland, daughter Lucinda Marie(Saul) Rodriguez of Sundown, sister Maria Cruzita Monzote of North Carolina, brothers George Romero of Morton, Steve Romero of NM, Daniel (Michelle) Romero of Tecolotito, NM and his companion Margie Cardona of Levelland. He had 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
