The City of Sundown is reminding their community members of a credit card transaction fee that began January 1.
Approved December 13, 2024, the City begam implementing a 3% convenience fee on all credit card transactions.
The decision comes as a part of on ongoing efforts to offset the costs associated with processing credit card payments and ensure the continued financial health of community services. The convenience fee with apply to all transactions processed through credit cards, including utility bill payments, permit fees, and other city services.
To help residents avoid this fee, the City of Sundown offers the following alternative payment options: Cash Payments: Payments made in cash at City Hall will not incur any additional fees.
Checks: Payments made by Check will not incur the convenience fee.
Bank Draft Payments: Residents can set up a bank draft to have payments automatically deducted from their checking or savings accounts. This method is secure, convenient, and fee-free.
