Hockley County Junior Livestock Show begins Tuesday, ends Saturady

    The Hockley County Junior Livestock Show and Sale will be held Tuesday, January 21 and conclude Saturday, January 25.

    Beginning on Tuesday, January 21, the goat and lamb move-ins will begin at 7 a.m. Ag Mechanics project move-ins will begin at 8 a.m. and will last until 5 p.m. At 9 a.m., the goat and breeding doe weight cards are due. Also due at 9 a.m. are the lamb weight cards. The Goat Show will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the Lamb Show. Hog move-in will begin at 5 p.m. as well as the steer and heifer weigh-ins.

    On Wednesday, January 22, rabbit weigh-ins will begin at 9 a.m. The Rabbit Show will begin at 10 a.m. The hog weights are due at 2 p.m. Judging of the Ag Mechanic projects will begin at 2 p.m. The Heifer Show will begin at 2 p.m. while the Steer Show will begin at 5 p.m. or a half-hour after the Heifer Show.

    On Thursday, January 23, the Barrow Show will begin at 9 a.m.

    On Saturday, January 25, the Buyer’s Lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. followed by the Awards and Sale at 12:30 p.m.
