Elizabeth “Betty” Shaw passed from this life January 10, 2023, at Lubbock Heart Hospital at the age of 93.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 17, at 10 a.m. at the City of Sundown Cemetery.

Betty was born July 19, 1929, in Mahaska County, Iowa, to Merrill and Lydia Ann Sarver.

She graduated from Oskaloosa High School, class of ‘46.

Betty married Ben Shaw on August 22, 1948.

She and Ben moved to West Texas in 1950, where they made their home in Sundown. Moving later to Levelland.

Betty was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Sundown and after moving to Levelland, the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sonshine Choir and went on numerous trips.

She loved playing cards and was a member of the South Plains Canasta Club.

Betty was a big fan of sports events, covering high school, college and pro.

One of her favorite times was family cookouts and holidays, where she baked some of the best pies and dishes.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, who will be dearly missed.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Deborah Stillson of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Cathy Bownds and husband, Vic, of Levelland; son, Jeff Shaw of Lubbock; and daughter, Cheri Thomas of Levelland; three grandsons: Justin Bownds and wife, Stephanie, Joshua Moore and Christopher Stillson; one granddaughter, Rachel Moore; three great-grandsons: Camryn, Jeremy, Kori Moore and Blake Bownds; four greatgranddaughters: Alexa, Madison, Taylor Byrnes and Mandy Moore; three sisters: Joyce Galloway, Marsha Leffel and Nancy Lauser; six brothers: Walace, Larry, Roger, Ed, Stephen, and Curt Sarver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Shaw; son, Brent Allen; grandsons, Cory Bownds and Jeremy Moore; five brothers: Lonnie, David, Jeffrey, Dan and Tim Sarver; and three sisters: Roberta Wolfe, Connie Kirin and Carol McNeese.

We wish to thank all her friends and church family for the precious moments and time she was able to spend with you all. She loved you all!!!
