Funeral Services for Abel Barrera were held on October 14, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland, Texas.
Interment followed at the Levelland Cemetery in Levelland, Texas
Abel Barrera was born to Luz and Celia Gonzalez Barrera on March 2, 1959 in Westleco, Texas Abel graduated from Whitharral High School in 1979 and went to work as a farm and rancher for many years.
He is preceded in death by parents Luzs and Celia Gonzalez Barrera, sisters Stella Garza and Jeanne Roedriguez, brothers Louis Barrera and Danny Barrera.
He is survived by his son Steven Brian (Shauna) Barrera of Whitharral, sisters Lilie (Gray) Chavez of Whitharrel, Aurora Hopkins, Luz (Mundy) Barrera and Isabel Chavez all three of Levelland;brothers Benny Barrera of Lubbock and Jesse (Prissy) Barrera of Giddings. Arrangments are under the professionals at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel.
