A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Visitation and viewing will be held on Monday and Tuesday September 25, 26, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and family will receive family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland.
Interment will be held at Levelland Memorial Cemetery in Levelland, TX. Pallbearers: Bryden Cowin, Xavier Campos, Bryan Gonzalez, Pvt. Ryan Gonzalez, Ethan Campos, Lathe Benavides, Landon Corwin.
Armando P. Benavides was a wounderful son , brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He married Ofelia Rodriguez on January 14, 1978 in Levelland and they haf five children from this union. He always said she was the love of his life . Armando, worked at the Co-op Gin for several years was a Welder for Big Bear Oil Field Service for 6 years, Worley Welding. His hobbies were watching his favorite professional base ball team The Texas Rangers, and enjoyed wating football. Spending time outside planting flowers and trees, had a green thumb. Loved spending quality time with all hi grandchildren and loved giving them a hard time. He loved life always wearing a smile and shared jokes to lighten someone’s day.
Preceded in Death by parents Ramiro and Evangelica Pena Benavides, Great grand daughter J’Lynn Esqueda, sisters Rosa, Amelia, and Isabel Vela Pena, brother Eliazar.

Sons Jimmy (Denise) Esqueda of Levelland, Gilbert (Mary Reyna) Esqueda and Tony (Terri) Esqueda both from Lubbock, Able (Abelardo) Benavides of Shallowater. Brothers Felix Vela Pena and Ricardo Benavides. Sisters Sofia Vela Pena ansEnriqueta Benavides. Grandchildren Jeremy,Alyssa, Elisa Marie, Stephine , Marty, Dori, Amber, Pamela, Ashley, Breanna, Lathe, Raylee and 30 Great Grandchildren.
