Church service for Jose M. Cabezuela, age 75, of Morton, Texas, were held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 23, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Morton with Mario Hernandez of Whiteface, Texas officiating. Jose passed away at his home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Morton. He was born May 9, 1948 in Candelaria, Texas to Eugenio and Maria Luz (Medina) Cabezuela. He was united in matrimony with Dora Mendoza in Candelaria on January 18, 1968.
After marrying Dora, the family moved to Morton, where they raised their two daughters, Mona and Rose. He farmed for many years until retirement. His favorite title was being Welo to his grandchildren. Jose was a member of Primera Mission Bautista in Morton for many years, where he served as a deacon.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Cabezuela; a granddaughter, Keziah BriAnne; his parents; and two brothers, Enrique Cabezuela and Eugenio Cabezuela.
Jose leaves behind his two daughters, Mona Greener of Lubbock, Texas and Rose Gonzalez and her husband, Freddie of Morton, Texas; his grandchildren Tim Greener and Appolonia, Nova Alexander, Davoni Benavidez and Nateo Gonzalez and great granddaughter Peyton Greener; his siblings, Lupe,Virginia and Jose Martin Medina; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
