Joy Harp, 77, of Levelland, Texas passed away Thursday August 1, 2024, in Levelland, Texas. She was born on July 14, 1947, in Ventura, California to Alfred and Nada Ellsworth. She married Jerry Harp on September 17, 1985, in Monahans, Texas, this year they would have celebrated their thirty-ninth anniversary.
Joy worked as an EMS paramedic and for Levelland Independent School District as a bus driver for special needs students. She later went to work as the secretary for 5th Street Baptist Church in Levelland. She was a loving mom and ‘Grammy”. She had a giver’s heart and loved being a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a caretaker to all those around her. She was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. She loved doing crafts with her grandchildren and she had an almost never-ending craft closet filled to the brim with supplies.
Joy is survived by two daughters, Jennifer McKinnon and husband Nathan of Littlefield, Texas, and Sara Kelly Dyer and husband LJ of Andrews, Texas; a son, Charlie Harp of Winnsboro, Texas; and six grandchildren, Travis McKinnon, Jessa McKinnon, Zachary Dyer, Tyler Kidd, Dina Harp and Maegan Harp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Harp; and two daughters, Janet Harp and Rhonda Bristow. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 6, 2024, at Grace Chapel in Littlefield, Texas with Pastor Tanner Wilson and Alan Wisdom officiating.
Interment followed in the Snyder Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
