Funeral services held for Rebecca Lynn Ellison, 68

Rebecca Lynn Ellison, 68, of Whiteface passed from this life to her heavenly home on May 16.

Lynn was born to Robert and Mary Bankhead in Odessa, on February 5, 1956. As a preacher’s child, she moved with her family often, living in Arizona and Wyoming, finally making it back to Texas where she graduated from Permian High School. She met the love of her life, Tommy, and settled in Whiteface where they could be found cheering at various games for their kids and sitting outside watching the West Texas sunsets.

Lynn was a creative spirit, known for her many skills. Her grandchildren would often boast that they had special cakes, not boring ones from the grocery store. She even made a wedding cake or two! In addition, she became a skilled jewelry crafter, creating one-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings.

Lynn and Tommy ran M&M Grocery in Whiteface for years until Tommy’s passing in 2012. Lynn filled her days after spoiling grand- and even a few greatgrandchildren.

Lynn fought a determined battle against cancer for three years before laying her burden down, no doubt meeting Tommy at the Pearly Gates, where he told her “You’re late, Lynn”. Lynn Ellison is survived by her childrenJohn and Cheryl Ellison, Janan and Brandl Stephenson, Jerrod and Jordan Ellison, and Jill and Bobby Epps. Additionally, she leaves behind a legacy of love for her 14 grandchildren and 5 great grands along with her mother, siblings and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service were held for Mrs. Rebecca Lynn Ellison on Saturday May 18, at 4 p.m. in Morton Church of Christ located 701 East Taylor in Morton. Officiating was Minister Joey Pierce. Interment was in City of Whiteface Cemetery in Whiteface.
