Funeral services were set for Thursday, September 13, 2023, at Bibles and Boots Cowboy Church in Opdyke West, with Pastor Michael Moore officiating the service.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 13th, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at the Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery.
Jerry L Mckay was born to Floyd and Bula Payne McKay on January 25, 1941, in Viburnum, Missouri.
He Married Linda Long on June 24, 1995, in Levelland. He worked as a professional truck driver, meat market for two years, Hockley County for five years, worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMS) Levelland Ambulance Service for four years and Levelland Fire Dept. Volunteer for over 15 years.
His hobbies were fishing, hunting, watching western movies, inspirational station, spending quality time with all his family and his favorite dog Zoey, going with his brother to New Mexico mountains and panning for gold.
He is proceeded in death by parents Floyd and Bula Payne McKay and 11 siblings.
He is survived by his Spouse of 28 years Linda McKay of Sundown, daughter Deidra (James) Cox of Levelland, sons Greg (Pam) McKay and Jay McKay both of Levelland, brother Rainey McKay of Lovington, N.M. 13 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren.
