Nicolasa Martinez, 84 of Levelland passed away from this life on Monday, November 11, 2024 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Viewing will be Wednesday, November 13th at 9am -4pm at Head Duarte Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7p.m at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 14th at 11am at St. Michaels Catholic Church.
Nicolasa was born to the late Fernando and Teresa Hernandez in Lockhart, Texas on August 4, 1940.
Nicolasa was a beacon of love and kindness, whose heart was always open to her family and friends.
She married the love of her life Guadalupe Martinez on November 19, 1959 they later moved to Levelland and began raising their family.
Nicolasa was a devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing based home for her loved ones. After her retirement from Levelland ISD her years were filled with joy, surrounded by the family she cherished so dearly. She cared for many of her grandchildren over the years which brought so much joy and happiness to her. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church for over 60 years she served the Lord faithful devoting her time as a Guadalupana, Her love for God was undeniable, and she found solace and strength in her daily prayers, faithfully reciting the Catholic rosary.
Nicolasa's legacy of love, faith, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Martinez, parents Fernando and Teresa Hernandez, daughter Angelina Aaragon, and granddaughter Megan Martinez, grandsons Aaron and Jason Lopez siblings Frank Hernandez, Santos Hernandez, Manuela Lopez and Olivia Hernandez. She is survived by her children George (Anna) Martinez, Victor(Ruby) Martinez, Lupe (Barbara) Martinez, Suzanne (Jorge) Mendez, Nancy Martinez, Mary (Stanley) Bara. 11 grandchildren Yvonne, Devon, Victoria, Stephanie, Leslie, Ryan, Ray, Courtney, Ramiro, Matthew, and Tony, great grandchildren Vianna, Aubrey, Brooklyn, Michael, Maddox, Jaxon, Raeligha Alyx, Elijah, Layla, Matthew, Kaite and Abram, siblings Crispen Hernandez, Adolfo Hernandez, Janie Sanchez, and Estella Zamora countless friends who will miss her dearly.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
