Luis Chavez, 61 of Whitharral was called to be with our Lord on April 5, in Whitharral. Funeral services were held on Tuesday April 9, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland.
Luis Chavez was born to Jose S. Jr., and Orovea Leal Chavez on May 2, 1962 in Levelland.
He attended School in Whitharral during his younger years. He worked for Western Dairy and Wilbur-Ellis fertilizer company, Lufkin Oil Field, module truck driving for Center Point Cotton Gin in Levelland, Forsche Incorporated delivering chemicals to the gins, Polk Module Truck driving for several years, farmer and rancher for Bufford Hayes Farms.
His hobbies were four wheeling and drag racing, listening to a variety of music. He was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland. He was preceded in death by: Parents: Jose S. Chavez Jr. and Orovea Leal Chavez, two brothers: Ramiro Chavez and Eddie Chavez. Survivors are: sisters Linda (Ramiro) Diaz and Lisa (Tony) Rodriguez both of Whitharral and Isabel (Jennifer) Chavez of Levelland, brothers Gary (Lillie) Chavez of Whitharral and Danny (Deborah) Chavez of Lubbock, nephews: Josh Chavez and Jamie (Kara) Chavez both of Whitharral.
