Maria Escamilla Memorial service will be held on Friday December 15, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland Officiating services will be Pastor David Alvarado and Music by Joe Flores. Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah Arredondo, Donaven Arredondo, Sierra Arredondo Interment will be at the City of Levelland Cemetery.
Visitations and Reflections of Life will be held on Thursday December 14, from 6 p.m. until 8p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Maria passed from this life on December 10, in Levelland. Maria was born on May 25, 1967 in Lubbock to Guadalupe Sr. And Sara Molina Mendez.
Maria Lusia, was blessed with two children. She moved to Levelland in 2022 from Morton and has been there ever since. She received her CNA Certified Nurses Assistance certification worked at Hickory House Nursing Home and retirement center and various other nursing home facilities for several years and worked as a custodian at Levelland Independent School District for over 21 years, also for four years at the Senior Citizens Center in Morton, The Morton Independent School District for four years as a cook in the cafeteria.
Her hobbies were listening to Elvis Presley music, going to Bingo Nights in Morton Senior Citizens Center, gardening and yard work, watching her Hallmark movies and lifetime tv station and spending time with her three grandchildren that she raised. She liked painting, fixing up homes, working on vehicles as a mechanic overhauling alternators, changing oil and tuning up the engines. Enjoyed her dogs Max and Wessley. Always taking care of many of her senior citizens friends. Maria, loved spending time with all of her family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her Parents: Guadalupe Sr. and Sara Molina Mendez. Daughter: Eva Mendez Brothers: Guadalupe Mendez Jr. . Siemon Mendez, Porifiro (Pete) Mendez, Antonio (Tony) Mendez, Henry Mendez and Aurelio (Bo) Mendez. Sisters: Dora Mendez, Genie (Geneva) Rendon. Survivors: Son: Joe Lewis Mendez of Levelland. Grandchildren: Noah (Katalyna Rivera) Arredondo, Sierra Arredondo, Donavan Arredondo all three of Lubbock. Companion of 15 years: George Romero of Morton. Sisters: Yolanda (Marvin) Gavina of Herford, Irene Mendez of Levelland, Nina (Ricardo) Alegria of Lubbock. Sister in Laws :Bernadine Mendez of Levelland and Rosa Mendez both of Brownfield. Brothers: Gus Mendez and Larry (Dolores) Mendez both of Lubbock, Bobby (Julie) Mendez, Tomas (Debra) Mendez, and George (Suzanne) Mendez all three of Levelland, Adam (Glady) Mendez of Ohio.
Services will be under the Professional Care of Head Duarte Funeral Home and Staff of Levelland.
