Ernesto “Ernie” Torrez Gonzales of Littlefield, formerly from Morton passed from this life on February 7 in Littlefield. Ernesto was born to Thomas Gonzales and Sara Torres on June 25, 1961 in Levelland.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, February 12, at 1 p.m. at Morton Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be Brother Rush Coffman. Interment will be at Morton Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care of Head Duarte Funeral Home staff of Levelland.
Visitations and Reflections of Life will be held on Sunday February 11, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday February 12, from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Morton. Pallbearers are Freddie Gonzales Jr., Geronimo Viernes, Rocky Orozco, Ernie Eric Gonzales Jr., Damion Diego Gonzales, Daniel Lee Gonzales.
Ernesto was born to Thomas Gonzales and Sara Torres On June 25 , 1961 in Levelland . He graduated from Morton High School. He was blessed with one son Ernie Gonzales Jr. Ernie Sr. worked as an entrepreneur as a mechanic, car wash and gas station in Morton for several years. He also worked as a landscaper in Littlefield. His hobbies were barbecuing, playing the drums, repairing lawnmowers and vehicles, working as a regular handyman, watching sports on television, including Texas Tech University football team, the NFL Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs with his favorite football player Patrick Mahomes. Ernie’s memory shall be cherished by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Gonzales and Sara Torres and two sisters Survivors include: Son Ernie Eric Gonzales Jr. of Littlefield; Grandsons Damion Diego Gonzales and Daniel Lee Gonzales both of Littlefield; Brothers Thomas Gonzales of Odessa, Albert Gonzales and Freddie Gonzales both of Morton Sister: Olivia Orozco of Levelland.
