ESPERANZA BORUNDA DE AVITA Church service for Esperanza Borunda de Avitia, 74, of Morton, is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morton with Father Heriberto Mercado of Muleshoe, officiating.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton. Burial will be at the Morton Memorial Cemetery.
Esperanza passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 in Littlefield. She was born, Esperanza Borunda Granillo, on November 20, 1948 in Santa Rosa, Chihuahua, Mexico. May God bless her and may she rest in peace in Heaven.
Esperanza came to be known as Lancha to her friends and Ama to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many more.
She was always ready to dance, whether in her kitchen or at a baile. Esperanza’s warm tortillas were almost as good as her tight hugs. She was known for the twinkle in her eyes, her jokes, mischief, and her love for her family.
Esperanza is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Borunda Borunda and Pilar Granillo Jaquez; two daughters, Maria and Marcos Guadalupe; one sister; and one brother.
Esperanza is survived by her daughter Dolores, her son Edward and his wife Neima, her daughter Lidia and her husband Israel, her daughter Yolanda, her son Jorge and his wife Rebecca, her son Ezekiel and his wife Jasmine, and her son Rodrigo and his wife Nadia. Above all else, Esperanza cherished her grandchildren Erika, Nikki, Nohely, Ramiro, Alexis, Allen, Joaquin, Brianna, Patricia, Julian, Lionel, Elias, Eliseo, Ovelia, Yzara, Ethaniel, Ava, Xavier, Abigail, Alexa, Aliana, Adalie, and Elian, and her nine great grandchildren, Gabbi, Aubrey, CJ, Chris, Marissa, Jaelyn, Xander, Adelina, and Dominic.
