RUBEN SALINAS JR.
Ruben Salinas Jr., 68 of Lubbock formerly of Whitharral passed away on March 29, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas.
Memorial services will be held on Friday April 4, 2025at 2:00 P.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland.
He was born on December 6 , 1956 in Roma, Texas to parents Ruben Sr. and Urbana Cavazos Salinas.
Ruben Jr. attended school in Smyer during his younger years. He worked agricultural as a Cotton Module Builder and Truck Driver for over 50 years for Donny Polk at the Opdyke West Cotton Gin. His hobbies incluced , going out to eat at a variety of restaurants, driving module trucks, watching Western movies on television, playing bingo and the Texas Lottery which he would occasionally win, and hanging out with family during holidays and special events. He was a long time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ruben Sr. And Urbana Cavazos Salinas and his four sisters San Juanita Belma Lopez, Alicia Lopez, Rosa Linda Escandon and Blanca Estela Ochoa.
He is survived by his sisters Thelma (Benito) Lopez of Whitharral, Leticia (Frank) Lopez and Betty (Albert) Gutierrez both of Levelland and Melissa (Raul) Munguia of Lubbock; and his brother Roy (Carmen) Salinas of Lubbock and a host of nieces and nephews.
