On Monday April 3, 2023, Raquel Torrez Acosta, loving wife and mother of 7 children, passed away at the age of 61. Raquel was born on March 6, 1962 in Miami, FL to Librado Sr. and Esther (Peralez) Torrez. Raquel had a very busy and active lifestyle on her short journey on this Earth.
She married Elias Acosta on March 10, 2007.
She enjoyed playing softball from a very young age with her mother and sisters as well as multiple family members. She was also a business owner and helped run the family restaurant in the town of Sundown for a very long time as well. Raquel was a very loving grandmother to her 22 grandchildren who could do no wrong in her eyes.
Raquel was preceded in death by her father and mother, Librado Sr. and Esther (Peralez) Torrez. She is survived by her husband, Elias Jr. (Coaster) Acosta; children, Luis Torrez Lopez, Jerry (Shanna) Lopez, Michael (April) Lopez, Julian (Oscar) Lopez, Donna (Dustin) Rogers, and Kayla (Emilio) Vidales. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sundown Cemetery.
