RICKEY HATTER

Rickey Hatter passed from this life into heaven December 19, 2022 in Levelland.

He was born near Duke, Oklahoma, October 24, 1934, to S.V. and Pearl Hatter.

He graduated from Altus High School in 1953, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 until 1959.

Rickey married Bessie Ann Holman April 20, 1962, in Vernon, Texas.

He attended seminary in Marlow, Oklahoma, graduating in 1973. He pastored churches in Texas and Kansas. He filled in at many other churches when called upon.

Rickey drove a school bus in Wheeler, Texas, for one year.

The family moved to Levelland in 1976, where he would work for Levelland ISD for 24 years doing various duties.

During his retirement, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and continued to preach at area churches when called upon.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn brother; sister, Audra Thornhill; and an infant greatgranddaughter.

Survivors include his wife of 60 plus years, Bessie; daughter, Becky (Zane) Davis; son, David Hatter, all of Levelland; three grandchildren: Dana (Shawn) Bradley, E’layne Davis and Trevor (Jacey) Davis, all of Levelland; and eight great-grandchildren: Keaton, Dalanie, Summer, Korbin, Jaxson, Stella, Aubree, and Arlie.

Rickey is also survived by many friends, because he never met a stranger. His life was a life well-lived.

A memorial service will be held at the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, January 20.
