Charles (Charley) Richard Tanner was born on January 25, 1939, to Jeff and Charlie Tanner in Clovis, NM.
He married Shirley Trout on December 22, 1960. Charles worked for Oxy from 1969 until his retirement in 1993. He loved carpentry work, woodworking and restoring old tractors, (and being on the tractor), going to Ruidoso, NM, and spending time and eating out with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Charlie Tanner, brother Jackie Tanner, sister Belva Cunningham, and a son Charles (Rick) Richard Tanner Jr.
Charles is survived by his wife Shirley Tanner, daughter in law Debra Tanner, grandson Bradley (Ana) Tanner, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home in the Abbey Chaple with graveside to follow.
