Services were held for Rodolfo Hinojosa Jr.

RODOLFO HINOJOSA JR. Rodolfo Hinojosa Jr., 76, of Levelland passed from this life on June 29, 2024. Visitation were from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with the Rosary being held at 6:30 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Rudy was born April 11,1948 in McAllen to Rodolfo Sr. and Rosa Sotelo Hinojosa. He grew up in Levelland and graduated from El Paso High School. He joined the United States Army and also served in the Army National Guard. Rudy owned and operated Aztec Welding for over twentyfive years. He also worked for Murrells Welding, Amoco, J&B Trailers, Worley Welding Works and Allied Oilfield and Machine. During his time as a welder, Rudy was a master of his skill and is still known for his work thus building many friendships during his tenure in the oilfield. Rudy retired in 2015.

Rudy loved reading; he was very well read. If it wasn’t a book, he was reading it in a newspaper. There wasn’t a subject he couldn’t elaborate on. He was a history enthusiast. Rudy was as sharp as they came and he never missed a Jeopardy question. If it wasn’t reading, he was watching the news or doing cross word puzzles. He was quiet man but if you had the time to talk with him you would quickly learn something from him. Rudy had a passion for sports from golf to football, he loved them all. He especially loved to watch his children and grandchildren playing sports.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Noemi Medina Hinojosa; father, Rodolfo Hinojosa Sr.; sister, Rebecca Hinojosa Marquez and godchildren, Jason Lopez, Michelle DeLeon and Fabian Guzman.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include sons, Patrick Hinojosa and wife, Brittney of Levelland and James Hinojosa of Midland; daughters, Crystal Hinojosa of Levelland, Rose Hinojosa of Levelland and Anna Perry and husband, Jeff of Levelland; grandchildren, Alex, Jordon, Hannah, Amanda, Katelyn, Payton, Kameron and Malachi; great- grandchildren, Camila and Citalia and godchildren, Efan and Krisel.
