Following the conclusion of every 2A District 5 boys’ basketball seasons, the All-District selections have been announced, and 14 athletes from our locally covered schools received honors.
The Ropes Eagles received seven honors, the Morton Indians received two honors, the Sundown Roughnecks received two honors, the Whiteface Antelopes received two honors and the Smyer Bobcats received one honor.
For Ropes, seniors Kade Franklin and Cutter Stumbo both won Co-Most Valuable Player, junior Kolter Dockery won Defensive Player of the Year, Head Coach Cameron Copley and his staff won Coach of the Year, juniors Kaden Riker and Branson Simental were named to the All-District team, and junior Zayden Pittman was named to the All-District Utility team.
For Sundown, senior Kye Powell was named to the All-District team and senior Nathan McAdams was named to the All-District Utility team.
For Morton, senior EJ Rivas was named to the All-District team and senior Jaeden Alvarado was named to the All-District Utility team.
For Whiteface, junior Cesar Chavez was named to the All-District team and senior Isaak Soliz was named to the All-District Utility team.
And for Smyer, senior Austin Martinez was named to the All-District Utility team.
