The Ropes Eagles basketball team won the Childress Tournament Championship this past weekend, going a perfect 4-0 in tournament play.
The Eagles started with a 49-47 win over Iowa Park, led by Kade Franklin with 24 points. Followed by a 5132 win over Elk City (Oklahoma), led by Cutter Stumbo with 27 points.
Then the Eagles beat Amarillo High Junior Varsity, 46-33, led by Kade Franklin with 26 points. Finally, they brought home the tournament title with a 52-48 overtime win over Holliday, behind 21 points from Cutter Stumbo.
Stumbo and Franklin both earned All-Tournament selections with their performances across the four games.
Following the perfect weekend, the Eagles now move to 8-1 this season. They have one more game on the road against Sudan before Christmas break, and then they kick off district play against Morton on Jan. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
