Lady Eagles crush Kress, 16-5

The Ropes Lady Eagles softball team went on the road to face the Kress Lady Roos this past Tuesday night, resulting in Ropes crushing them 16-5 across five innings.

As a team, the Lady Eagles bested the Lady Roos 12-3 in hits, 9-8 in walks drawn and 1-2 in errors committed.

Individual standouts at the plate for Ropes included Brooklyn Hogg going 4/4 with five runs-batted-in, three runs scored, three stolen bases, a home run, a double and a walk, first baseman Camden Dodd going ¾ with two RBI’s, two runs scored, a triple and a double, left fielder Sydney Brooks going 2/3 with two RBI’s, two runs scored and a home run, shortstop Braedyn Reyna going 1/3 with two runs scored, two walks and a stolen base, right fielder Laila Mireles going ¼ with two runs scored and a double, and Allye Bandy going ½ with two stolen bases, a run scored and a walk.

On the mound for the Lady Eagles, Marlee Molina got the start, pitching one inning and surrendering two earned runs on one hit and four walks. Hogg would enter in relief to pitch the final four innings, surrendering three earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out seven batters.

The win marks Ropes’ fourth in a row and improves their overall record to 13-8 on the season. They’ll look to add onto that streak over the weekend at Lockney before heading on the road to face Lubbock Christian on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
