Levelland ISD’s Tennis PACK showed up strong at the Pack Invitational Meet last week at Levelland highschool and South Plains College, where varsity placed in two events.
Players Zachary Lopez and Daniela Perez-Garcia earned first place in the Mixed Doubles Event, and Nathan Ellis got third place in the Boys Single Event.
Junior varsity had many standouts, with four of them as champions in their respected division. For boys, Levelland’s Julio Ramos Ortega secured first place in the Boys Singles Championship.
For Girls Singles, Abril Perez finished as Consolation Champion. Yarel Hernandez and Adayith Muro won as Consolation Champions in the Girls Doubles Event. Junior Varsity ended their day as Team Champions.
Junior high made a stand at the competition too with Christian Saenz and Greska-Lou Zapata winning first place in the Girls Doubles Championship, and Ariana Franco and Sarah Cisneros winning the Consolation Championship for Girls Doubles.
Tennis coach Jeffrey Braziel is proud of his students and gives credit to the effort put in.
“Getting to see success at all levels of the program this weekend was amazing,” Braziel said. “I can not tell you how blessed I am to be able to be a part of a program with such hard working and talented players and coaching staff. This weekends success is a testament to that work.”
Varsity Tennis will be back on Friday at the Longhorn Invitational in Amarillo.
Junior varsity will be back on Thursday for a small school tournament in Levelland.
