Roughettes split series against Floydada

The Sundown Roughettes played against the Floydada Lady Winds this past Friday and Saturday where they split the series winning Friday and losing Saturday on the road.Sundown 10, Floydada 9For the team’s first matchup against Floydada, Sundown hosted them where they won in a very close game.

The Sundown Roughnecks hosted the Post Antelopes this past Saturday for UIL District Baseball Action where the Roughnecks won 10-7.The first team on the board was Post in the top of the first inning after they drew a walk scoring one run taking the early 10 lead.

The Levelland Lobos hosted the San Angelo Lake View Chiefs this past Friday for UIL District Baseball play where the Lobos won 6-5 in an extra inning.The Lobos were the first team on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brayden Moore walked and R.J.

Levelland Lobos fall to Estacado Matadors

The Levelland Lobos suffered a district road loss on Wednesday to the Estacado Matadors this past Wednesday, 10-3.

SPC Texan Malique Ewin named 1st team All-American

Malique Ewin of the South Plains College Texans has been named NJCAA Division I First Team All-American.Ewin a Sophomore Forward for the Texans averaged 14.9 points per game over the span of 34 games on the season. He would shoot 62.6% from the field and a free throw percentage of 59.2%.

Levelland Track battles during district meet

The Levelland Track and Field team competed in San Angelo for the last district meet this past Wednesday and Thursday where the girls team placed fourth in district and the boys team placed second.The team had many athletes move onto Area for the Lobos and Loboettes.

SPC Track dominates in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO — The South Plains College men’s and women’s track and field teams posted six event titles Saturday at the Angelo State David Noble Relays at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.Top Marks: Men’s 400 meters: Gregory Prince went 46.93 to take the top spot.
